D'Works feels 'Creepy'
Gershon tome goes to movie 'Camp'
By Michael Fleming
DreamWorks has acquired screen rights to "Camp Creepy Time," a children's book written by actress Gina Gershon and her brother, Dann Gershon.
Richard LaGravenese will write the script. The trio will exec produce, and Nickelodeon Films will produce.
Set to be published in May by Putnam Juvenile, "Camp Creepy Time" is about a young boy who's sent to a summer camp.
He discovers that the haunt is little more than an alien-run smuggling operation. And the camp counselors are turning children into monsters, and shipping them off to zoos on planets around the solar system.
LaGravenese most recently wrote and directed the Hilary Swank starrer "Freedom Writers," and he's currently working on an Alcon Entertainment/Warner Bros. adaptation of the Cecilia Ahern novel "P.S., I Love You." Gershon stars in that film with Swank and Gerard Butler.
CAA repped the book.
